Tarun Khanna

Tarun Khanna is the Jorge Paulo Lemann Professor at Harvard Business School, where he has studied entrepreneurship as a driver of social and economic development in emerging markets for nearly three decades. Since joining HBS in 1993 after earning degrees from Princeton and Harvard, he has taught courses on strategy, international business, and economic development to students and executives.

As the founding director of Harvard’s Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute, he fostered interdisciplinary engagement across South Asia. His teaching has included innovative courses like Contemporary Developing Countries, which addresses complex social challenges, and the widely accessed edX course Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies, taken by learners worldwide.
