Currently, Akash Yadav serves as the Lead of Data Science and Technology at the All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI), where he is establishing a data science support infrastructure, leading evidence-based research projects in disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation, and developing technology tools for internal use. He also facilitates data-driven community workshops to enhance collaboration and governance.

Akash is also a Research Affiliate at CrisisReady, working on automated decision-making systems for targeted emergency response and building pipelines to democratize data for public good. His work lies at the intersection of urban planning and data science, leveraging his background in development economics and applied statisti

With over three years of experience in the social impact sector, he has worked with start-ups, CSOs, NGOs, and city governments on initiatives spanning financial inclusion to disaster response. His previous projects include developing tools for unbanked populations in rural Asia and Africa with the World Bank, predicting disaster-related needs, evaluating redlining’s impact on COVID-19 outcomes, and mapping vulnerability in India’s urban slums.
